Why is Kajabi unique?
Kajabi doesn’t charge transaction fees. So, I get to keep all the money I make.

The basic plan goes for $119 monthly.
It offers features to get the business up and running immediately. I can create up to three products and funnels each plus unlimited landing pages and marketing emails.
The other two plans are available for $159 and $319 per month, and offer 15 and 100 products and funnels each, respectively. I noticed that I cannot save money with the annual plan, as is the case with most subscription-based software, except for the first year, which offers a 20% discount.
But each plan comes with a 14-day free trial.
Feature 1: User experience of course builder
I signed up for the highest-tiered plan on a free trial with my card to fully test this software.
The onboarding process was one of the most straightforward I have seen. It took me right to where I would need to be to create a course, podcast, community, or coaching. I chose the first option.
The course builder is so easy to use, that even a first-timer would have no trouble with it.
It generated a course outline from my course title and description plus AI-generated text content for each lesson. I can edit or replace the text, plus add video, audio, and downloadable files.
I loved how Kajabi lets me add automation to each lesson.
For instance, I can set up automated tasks to grant an offer, issue a certificate, subscribe to an email sequence, register for an event, or issue a coupon when a learner completes the lesson.
Another thing that impressed me about this course builder is that it lets me provide a live session for a course by enabling a toggle switch. With this option, I can schedule a weekly live session to discuss the course with students and answer their questions. But, it can accommodate only 200 students.
Kajabi can upload the session recordings as a lesson so that learners can always go back to them.
Feature 2: Learner engagement tools
It seems like students can only leave comments on lessons. I couldn’t find any other way for students to engage with the material, not even a quiz, which even the most basic online course platforms have.
Feature 3: Marketing and payment features
Kajabi may not be the best platform for learner engagement, but it sure does make up for it with its advanced sales and marketing features.
I can create offers and coupons in a few simple steps, and even run affiliate programs.
I also noticed that the platform has native funnels and landing page builders, plus an email marketing feature. I tested them and found they can help me automate customers’ journeys from opt-in to checkout, create sales pages to run focused marketing campaigns and send email sequences and broadcasts.
I was surprised to see forms and event features since most platforms I’ve tested don’t have them.
Offering me these capabilities means I can create embeddable custom forms to generate leads and create events to engage customers and deliver valuable content.
However, what impressed me the most was how intuitive all these features are.
Feature 4: Scalability
Kajabi’s various pricing plans make it scalable.
It also offers a custom plan in case any of the subscription options don’t meet my needs. However, the regular plans can accommodate between 1,000 and 20,000 customers and 10,000 to 100,000 email contacts.
I can extend this platform’s functionality with third-party integrations, including Zapier, which can connect Kajabi to over 500 applications.
The only thing I don’t like is that live sessions only accommodate 200 students. Sadly, I couldn’t find a way to increase that limit. This could be a problem for instructors with a large number of students.
Feature 5: Affordability
Kajabi’s advanced marketing features, AI capabilities, automation, and 0% transaction fee make it a good deal for the price. But I think having a basic plan with pricing about twice the costs of Thinkific and Teachable puts it at a disadvantage to these comparable platforms.
Also, not having a free plan and limiting the number of customers creators can have per plan could make it less competitive.
Feature 6: Unique features
Adding automation means I don’t have to worry about repetitive tasks. Also, I can bring this platform’s native capabilities to my apps with public API access.
