Feature 1: Page Builder And Templates
I created landing pages with the smart builder and the classic builder.
The classic builder lets me customize pages with Javascript, HTML or CSS but also supports drag-and-drop. I could choose from 100 templates and the on-page checklist sped up my workflow.
The smart builder, on the other hand, lets me build pages by describing my company, brand, target audience, features, and benefits. It then generates and distributes content across the page in seconds.
However, you’ll have to edit the content to match your brand voice and include unique content that AI can’t generate like case studies, custom research, and visual elements.
Both page builders work well. However, AI can’t mimic unique writing styles, like using storytelling in your copy, adding custom images, or user-generated content.
I tested the page speed of a published landing page at an internet speed of 25Mbps and it loaded in 0.9 seconds on desktop and 2.4 seconds on mobile. A second landing page loaded in 3.2 seconds on mobile and 0.9 on desktop. I’d say Unbounce pages load fastest on desktops.
Feature 2: App Integrations
Unbounce supports multiple integrations. So I tested it for ease-of-use. I integrated Unbounce with my Zoho mail to collect leads and form data from my landing page. The integration doesn’t require developer help. So beginners can use it.
Feature 3: Pop-ups, Stick Bars, and Opt ins
Unbounce provides about 40 landing page templates and 30 sticky bar templates, with the option to create them from scratch. However, its design is not so intuitive as you’ll have to rely on their documentation to get things done.
Moreover, Unbounce doesn’t provide an easy-to-follow guide as some steps might be confusing if you don’t read the entire guide before applying its advice. Consequently, new users might find it difficult to set up pop-ups and sticky bars on their first try.
Feature 4: Website Builder
Unbounce doesn’t have a website builder.
Feature 5: AI Features
Using the AI copywriting feature, I swiftly generated entirely unique content for the landing page. Nevertheless, I had to revise it to ensure a more natural and human-like tone. Unbounce and Instapage works differently. They are not really comparable because Unbounce allows long text and Instapage works on the bases on short content.
However, I’m not big on using AI to write copy as it can dilute the brand voice, give inaccurate information, or even write awkward phrases, otherwise I prefer the Unbounce AI.
Feature 6: Unique Features
Unbounce adapts each landing page template to specific use cases. For instance, when I chose a landing page template with a form or link, I was prompted to set my conversion goals.
However, when I tried to set goals for landing pages that didn’t have forms, the platform prompted me to add a button, image, form, or text box with a link to the page. After which I checked off the right box. I found out that Unbounce gives beginners speed through its templates and AI copywriting tool while allowing advanced users control their customization options. Although I edited the auto-generated content from the AI copywriter to fit my brand voice and needs, I found the feature useful as a jump-off point for creating content.
